We service any Small Claims Court matter in Southern Ontario

Our Hourly Rate for Interview at your office or residence for Evidence for Claim or Defence  is $35.00

Our Hourly Rate for Preparation of Claim or Defence  is $50.00

Our Hourly Rate for Court Attendance is $75.00

Mileage for the above services extra @$0.60 per kilometer

We use Regional Process Service (RPS & Associates) to issue, serve and file your Claim or Defense

• We will act as your Agent.

• Meet with you at your office or residence for initial interview and to examine your Claim or Defence.

• Prepare your Claim or Defense with the information you provide.

• NOTE: you will be required to pay for all disbursements at the time they are paid by us to the Court.  

• Issue, Serve and File your Claim or Defense. (Regional Process Service)

• Prepare and File Affidavits of Service for documents or summons served.

• We will attend settlement conferences, handle written offers to settle.

• Attendance at Settlement Conferences (Previously called Pre-Trials), charges are $150.00 (minimum charge) , plus mileage.

• NOTE: Witnesses are not required to attend Settlement Conferences.

• CLAIMS ARE USUALLY, BUT NOT ALWAYS SETTLED AT THIS POINT!

• Prepare for trial if required.

• Prepare, bind, serve and file your Document Brief (Claim or Defense evidence) for trial, together with your list of Witnesses.

• Attend trial , $75.00 per hour ( minimum charge $150.00) plus mileage @$0.60 per kilometer

• Long distance calls and faxing extra.

• Copies of evidence, are available at 25 cents per page 81/2" X 11" CombBind bound with Cover Stock.

• We will prepare, issue, and file, affidavits of service, service of Garnishment on all parties

• Court time is $75.00 (minimum charge) hourly rate, plus mileage, $50.00 per hour for the preparation of Garnishment Documents for service.. 

• Charges for Garnishment Hearing Attendance $75.00 (minimum charge) hourly rate, plus mileage.

•  Affidavits of Service, (this is done if the employer or bank does not make the required deductions) 

•  

• Disbursements, (payments to the Court Clerk) are usually recovered together with pre-judgment and post-judgment interest. 

• If you are successful at trial. The Judge or Deputy Judge may also award additional costs for many reasons. 

• Costs can at times be over what we charge for our services.

• Costs if awarded, are paid to you and are yours to keep.

Please Note: We are not Lawyers or able to give Legal Advice on any matter.
HOWEVER

Our Staff is knowledgeable and experienced in the proceedings of Small Claims Court
and what is required in the preparation of a Claim or Defence and Garnishment of assets if required.

WE KEEP YOU INFORMED

PRESENT SMALL CLAIMS Court "Clerk Fees" ARE AS FOLLOWS
  Settlement Conference $75.00 (mandatory) - Trial $100.00 - Witness Summons $19.00 each plus travel allowance.
If successful, you can recover the above plus $50.00 for preparation and $20.00 for Service of Claim or Defense  and whatever additional costs the Court deems just.

All documents are served and filed by RPS & Associates, a Process Service business in which J. Paul Meeks is a full Partner
